PowerForce
at the 2000 Sydney Olympics
The Sydney Olympics was managed
in whole by an organisation called SOCOG - and they
drove the security requirements for the Olympics.
PowerForce Software was involved with one such Security
company - growing its staff from 80 to 1500 for the
period of the contract. The task was to manage 1500
staff over a schedule of 240,000 hours, 27,000 rosters
(shifts) at over 60 Olympic locations throughout Sydney.
The competition battled with Excel spreadsheets to manage
the scheduling of their staff. Our customer with the
use of PowerForce was able to manage all the scheduling
requirements as demanded by SOCOG, to optimise the scheduling
requirements, pay the staff and to invoice SOCOG for
the shift worked.
