Site Design Process>
Through experience we find that
a web design process works well for both the client
and for us.
We have shared our web design process in this page for
you to get an idea about how we work.
Here's how we go about designing
our clients' sites.
Understanding Requirements - The first
and most important step is for us to clearly understand
our client's requirements.
Before we start working on the web site, we ask our
client's to send us information about 3 main things:
Look and Feel
First we understand the requirements
for the look of the site e.g. color combination, theme
etc.
Functionality
We then need to know
if interactive tools need to be added. This may include
a poll, survey, guestbook, chat, quiz etc.
Navigation and Structure
As navigation is a very important
part of designing a web site, we need to clearly understand
the important categories and links of the site. Based
on this we will design a good navigation system that
will allow visitors to easily move through the site.
Layout
Designs
- Once we have clearly understood the requirements we
start designing layouts. These layouts are based on
sample sites that the client likes. Using Macromedia
Fireworks, a leading graphic design tool used by web
developers, we design 4-7 layouts according to the clients
needs.
Uploading
Layouts
-The layouts are then exported as images and uploaded
to our server. Note: At this point the layouts are not
converted to HTML. This would be a waste of time as
the client will finally choose only one layout. The
layouts are uploaded only for the client to choose from
the various options and make his final selection.
Client's
Review and Final Selection
- Once the layouts are uploaded to our server the client
reviews the layouts and chooses the layout he likes
best. He may also request minor changes in the layout.
HTML
Design and Optimization
- After the client has chosen the final layout, we convert
the layout to HTML and optimize it for the web.
Content
Addition and functionality
- We then add the content and work on the functionality.
Final
Upload
- Once the site is completely ready and the total amount
has been paid by the client, the site is transferred
to client's server.
